These "giant peas" are actually the fruit of the legendary Jiulong Vine (Entada)—and they look remarkably like regular peas, only much bigger! The largest Entada pods can reach nearly two meters in length and weigh up to five kilograms, making them the biggest legume pods in the world.

Each of these adorable keychains begins with a daring journey into the remote mountain forests of Yunnan. Collecting Entada bean pods is no easy task—the pods grow atop twisting vines, five or six meters above ground! It takes courage, skill, and a little bit of luck to reach them.

After braving the wilds (and almost getting lost in the process), we bring these rare pods home. They’re thoroughly cleaned, gently dried, and then lovingly hand-painted—each one gets its own charming facial features and a spark of personality, transforming it into a whimsical bean pod keychain.
